Protect South Carolina
Wood Ducks
The South Carolina Wood duck became the state duck in 2009.
Help preserve the wetlands, nesting habitat and natural beauty that South Carolina’s Wood Ducks depend on. Through conservation, education and community support, we’re working to protect these remarkable birds for generations to come.

Our Mission Statement
Protecting the Places Wood Ducks Call Home
South Carolina’s Wood Ducks depend on healthy wetlands, mature bottomland forests and safe nesting habitat to thrive. As natural nesting areas disappear, active conservation becomes increasingly important.
Carolina Wood Duck Conservation helps support habitat restoration, nesting programs and organizations working directly to protect these birds and the ecosystems they depend on.
You don’t have to be a hunter or conservation expert to make a difference. By donating, attending an event or supporting our shop, you can help put resources directly behind Wood Duck conservation in South Carolina.
Formal Fundraising & Signature Events
Join us for distinctive gatherings where conservation, community and Southern hospitality come together.
From elegant fundraising galas and intimate social events to curated wildlife experiences, each gathering offers a memorable way to connect with fellow supporters while advancing the protection of South Carolina’s Wood Ducks and their natural habitat.
